This internship in the Medical Affairs division of Janssen Scientific Affairs is focused on providing college-level students with practical, industry-specific scientific, analytical, and communication experience.
Positions are available in the following areas:
- Medical Affairs Lung and Precision Medicine: assist with evidence generation strategy and tactics, literature reviews, data evaluation (e.g. clinical, epidemiological, demographic, real world), support investigator-initiated studies, and contribute to precision medicine workstreams
Key Responsibilities:
Work on assigned dedicated projects
Work collaboratively with Medical Affairs Precision Medicine staff supporting ongoing projects
Assist with activities and projects within Precision Medicine Medical Affairs
Participate in ongoing team meetings
Engage with various other functions within the larger Medical Affairs/RWV&E/Research & Development/Commercial organizations (Oncology)
Qualifications
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a graduate degree - PhD, or master’s program in a medical science-related field (e.g., Biochemistry/ /Pathology/Genetics/Molecular Testing etc.)
Have completed at least two years of college coursework and be enrolled in an accredited university/college program throughout the entire duration of the internship (not necessarily actively taking classes)
Be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-b status) now or in the future
Be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) with reliable transportation to and from work
Be detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to handle multiple tasks
Have the ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team
Proficiency with Microsoft office, word, excel (including a high proficiency with generating tables and graphs), and power point, along with strong oral and written communication skills is highly desirable.
Additional technical competencies in sharepoint and other information technology systems are highly desirable, as is experience with pubmed databases and other literature databases.
Candidates with academic, clinical biomarker testing and/or data analysis experience are preferred
A minimum gpa of 3.0 is strongly preferred
Participation in campus/community service activities is desired
