Key Tasks and Reponsibilities:
Responsible for Navigation, DP or anchor operations when on duty
Responsible to maintain current log books on all operations such as vessel movements, helicopter and boat arrivals and departures, deck activities, incidents and accidents
Responsible for maintaining the bridge in an orderly and professional manner
Responsible for updating navigational publications and charts when appointed in name by the Master
Responsible for preparation of manifests for helicopters and supply vessels
Assist in planned maintenance of safety equipment, deck equipment and miscellaneous navigational equipment
Perform duties in connection with the GMDSS installation
Carry out duties and responsibilities as laid down in the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP)
Oversee deck operations and crane operations with reference to overall vessel operational requirements
To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties
Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.
Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as, the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills and/or other training as applicable for the function
Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Knowledge and experience in the offshore industry with at least 5 years' experience in a similar Mechanical role
High school graduate
Mechanical Engineering Certificate
Valid Offshore Medical
BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)
Fluent both in spoken and written English
Knowledge of DP Vessel operations
STCW95 Reg.
II/1 - OICNW,
IV/2 - GMDSS
VI/4-1 Medical First Aid
VI/2-2 Fast Rescue Craft (If assigned to FRC)
V1-6 Security Training for Seafarers with Security Duties
Nautical Institute Full DP Operator's Certificate
STCW medical fitness certificate
