Sysco Analyst, LCC Trade Management in HOUSTON, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing data and analytics to identify scope of request from the National Sales team. Review customers’ needs, collect/manipulate data, and recommend a course of action that aligns with the overall National Sales strategy. Responsible for leading tool development and process enhancements. Review/refine existing tools or procedures and work collaboratively across the team to identify pain-points or innovation opportunity areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in opportunity validation calls to identify the scope of requests from the National Sales team. Manage the assigned Support Requests, define the data requirements, collect the required data needed for analysis, and validate accuracy of the analysis. Select and recommend a course of action for the assigned request by completing the analysis and creating deliverable(s) to communicate with the National Sales team.

  • Develop ideas and tools to improve usability of Sysco’s internal data sources. Work cross-functionally to automate or improve existing processes to streamline accuracy and performance. Design new methods for analyzing and presenting program recommendations.

  • Support Manager with analysis and implementation of performance improvement strategies for new and existing programs.

  • Act as the team’s key point of contact for gathering market data and insights by utilizing COMTELL. Utilize the market data to propose formula-based programs on commodity items.

  • Engage in regular collaboration with Merchandising teams to enhance product knowledge, gain costing insights to aid in pricing strategy development, and identify the optimal product assortment for National Sales customers.

  • Participate in weekly segment calls with National Sales team; provide a detailed review of any suggested pricing proposals and discuss business pipeline

  • Support Leader in new Customer analysis and program preparation. Support Sr. Analyst with complex large-scale analyses and other ad hoc requests

Education Required:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree.

Education Preferred:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of quantitative analytics experience

Experience Preferred:

  • Prior distribution or foodservice experience is a plus.

Technical Skills & Abilities

  • Quantitative problem-solver; analytical thinker who can draw conclusions from multiple data sources

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable sharing independent thoughts and conclusions

  • Collaborative team player who works well with others to achieve positive results

  • Entrepreneurial spirit; embraces change and the challenge to innovate that comes with it

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, data connections, macros and automation.

  • Proficiency in database reporting; Experience in SQL, Tableau, 1010Data, SAS, R or other relevant data mining software preferred

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
