Bridgeport Machinist - Manual

Job Information:

• Located in Houston, TX (Aldine Gardens, 07739)

• Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM / 4:30 PM (some overtime, never weekends)

  Bridgeport Machinist Responsibilities:

• Sets-up and finely tunes Bridgeport lathes used for drilling and milling very tight tolerances based on customer product specifications and dimensions. G code and M code

• Reviews, studies and becomes familiar with customer blueprints, diagrams, drawings and/or sample parts

• Participates in conversations with supervisor or managers on future orders, companies abilities to manufacture such items and ability to deliver finished goods within allotted time frame.

• Processes customers orders based on due dates, materials on-hand and factors-in "hot jobs" if applicable

• Shifts production demands as needed to complete "hot jobs" when applicable

• Accounts for materials used, ensure paperwork is accurately and consistently completed on time and turned-in to the appropriate person(s).

  Bridgeport Machinist Requirements:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school trade/vocational schooling is preferred but not required.

• Must have at least seven (7) years of machine shop experience. We train but must have a solid fundamental understanding of how to run lathes for milling and drilling tight tolerances.

• Must have prior experience testing and measuring (calipers) newly manufactured components to ensure tolerances meet specifications.
