We have an exciting opportunity for a Dust Monitor Project Manager to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.

The Dust Monitor Project Manager will:

• Perform project management for an HLS dust monitor feasibility assessment

• Manage the overall efforts related to systems engineering, project engineering, test engineering and logistics engineering

• Manage the project team and their activities

• Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support

• Monitor cost performance for the project against the established plan

• Develop and maintain financial reports

• Develop and manage project schedule

• Oversee the development of procedures, work instructions and process flows

• Manage project risks and opportunities and ensure that a structured risk and opportunity process is followed

• Assess how program level changes impact project requirements and execution

• Interface frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA personnel, and vendors

• Work with the lead systems engineer to meet technical and performance goals

• Perform other duties as required ​

  Requisition Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.

• Experience managing and leading engineering projects

• Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels

• Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines

• Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, environmental testing, and office software​

  Requisition Preferences:

• ​BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and twelve (12) years of direct engineering experience, or Ph.D. degrees and nine (9) years direct engineering experience

• Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures

• Prior experience working in a system development project/program
