THE ROLE :
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented IT Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. In this role you will work closely with various departments to support data-driven decision-making and help optimize business processes. You will support Xylem key initiatives, enabling the team to make data driven decisions that drive company strategy. You will work with Xylem business project teams to understand their data needs and work with IT team members to identify how to acquire the data. You will plan and lead UAT efforts for each data project ensuring the solution delivered meets the need of the business. In this role you will be responsible for regular communications with business stakeholders on the status of projects (working closely with the PMO team) and ensure proper change management.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the business to understand their data needs, asking probing questions, and documenting all requirements
Collect, analyze, and document business requirements including business requirements documents and data requirements documents
Understand gaps in data to enable key business decisions and collaborate with IT to fill those gaps
Participate in requirement gathering and issue resolution meetings with technical and business resources.
Work with the business and fellow IT application owners to map data fields
Create and maintain a data dictionary defining all fields and KPIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide recommendations
Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Support the development and implementation of data analytics tools and systems
Prepare for and conduct UAT testing, ensuring the data products we deliver meet the needs of the business
Create strong business relationships.
Be hands on – view various data sets and identify insights
Create and deploy good communication plans and channels for the programs you are supplying data and insight
Provide thought leadership and a vision for the future of data while providing a scalable platform for speed and efficiency.
Be a change management champion as we deploy our modern platforms
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelors degree in Business and/or 5 – 7 years' experience in data analyst role
Project and product management experience
Business Analyst Experience
Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding.
Strong documentation skills.
Solid time management skills and ability to self-manage support/issue priorities.
Ability to prioritize, lead, and direct multi-functional teams to address and solve technical and business issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment.
Accountable to deliver commitments.
Demonstrable ability to coordinate or lead multiple projects and activities with relevant priorities.
Technical Knowledge
Power BI Experience (or similar BI platforms but willing to learn Power BI)
Experience in complex data projects with multiple data sources
Salary range:
$93,900.00 - $169,000.00
