Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Staff Accountant on a contract basis to support key finance and accounting operations for our client. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise to contribute directly to the organization’s accounting and reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of entries.
Month-End Close: Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.
Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, reconciliations, and aging reports.
Reconciliations: Perform bank and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
Audit Support: Assist with external and internal audits by providing documentation and answering inquiries.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
Reporting: Compile and deliver various financial reports and analyses for management.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and work collaboratively to implement solutions.
Ad Hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
