Internship Summary:

Kuraray's paid internship program allows students the opportunity to obtain valuable, applicable work experience in a fast-paced, and challenging environment. The program blends real-world experience with an extensive overview of the chemical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The internship will be 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2025 with flexible start dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time.

The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks.

No Housing will be provided as part of the internship.

The Supply Chain Intern will rotate through core supply chain functions during their internship: logistics operations, logistics procurement, and product management. Opportunities will include learning about the various roles and functions within supply chain, exposure to a variety of experienced supply chain professionals, and working with team members to accomplish function specific tasks and meet project deadlines. Assignments will be driven by current business needs at time of internship. The intern position will lay the groundwork for future careers by gaining real world experience in support of Kuraray's supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

:

  • Learn the business of the logistics industry
  • Active participation in the warehouse management process, ocean freight export process, and vendor KPI management
  • Introduction to the logistics procurement function role and responsibilities at Kuraray America, Inc.
    • Hands on participation in the bidding process, bid evaluations, awards of contracts and legal terms, conditions, and concepts
    • Logistics network optimization activities
  • Support the US Product Management team with various tasks and projects to ensure the availability, as well as the accuracy, of inventory for products sold to the market
    • Targeted focus on the monitoring of inventory levels across multiple warehouses and the creation of automatic triggers in response to live data using PowerBI as the reporting tool
  • Identify various business issues and provide solutions via research

Qualifications

:

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

Pursuing a B.S., B.A, or graduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or relevant degree

Completed at least two years of college education before beginning internship

Strong academic performance minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement

Demonstrated communication and leadership skills

Above average computer skills (Excel, MS SharePoint, Power BI)

Ability to communicate and gather input from various sources

Ability to plan and organize the work and document progress clearly and concisely

Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity

Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program
