Leidos Quality Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

Description

Leidos, is seeking a talented Quality Engineer. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Leidos is involved in multiple contracts to provide hardware and systems for high energy weapons, launchers, Hypersonics, and target surrogates for several DoD customers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer will support mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing. Candidate will perform program quality planning, analyze program QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures and process plans, finalize source inspection checklist, coordinate review nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective action. Other key duties include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, working with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies. Collection and reporting of Quality Metrics, reviewing and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, PDR and CDR.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters Degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of (10) years of experience inan ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control will be considered

  • Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action.

  • Must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100.

  • Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.

  • Experience in writing measurement plans.

  • Experience implementing PFMEA and Control plans into manufacturing processes.

  • Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) is preferred.

  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

  • The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
