Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Manager/Advanced Systems Engineer who will provide support to the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures (MDA/TC) Program Office. Duties will include supporting target programs in identifying, analyzing, planning for, reporting, and retiring risks (technical, test, and programmatic) throughout the development life cycle, from acquisition of targets and launch vehicles required for Missile Defense System testing and support to other agencies through mission execution. Duties will also include risk analysis and developing risk assessments for proposed or requested changes, deviations, and waivers to guidance, technical and performance specifications, and procedures to support decisions affecting acquisition and/or mission execution.

This team member will work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment, providing technical expertise to assist the government in overseeing contractor risk management activities. Will serve as the Target Program Risk point of contact for document reviews, Objective Evidence verification, Entrance and Exit Criteria tailoring for major milestone reviews, status of Risks and Watch Items (WIs), Risk Management Process questions, and contractor Risk Management working groups and boards.

Responsibilities

  • Work with MDA/TC Program Chief Engineers (CE), Chief Product Engineers (CPE), and other Risk owners for Risk and WI chart creation and updates

  • Work with Chief Engineers, Program Managers, Product Engineers, and Managers to get Program-approved Risk and WI packages to the MDA/TC Risk Lead for disposition at the TC Risk Management Board (RMB) and the MDA Risk Working Group (MRWG)

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Prime Contractor risk personnel and support their Risk and Opportunity Work Group (ROWG), distribute ROWG charts to the Program team, convert Prime Contractor risks to MDA risks when appropriate

  • Maintain configuration control of Risk and WI chart packages and Risk Assessments

  • Update packages based on TC RMB and MRWG actions, mitigation step completion, changes to understanding and knowledge associated with Risk and WI content, and input from other sources

  • Provide charts to the Customer for Government portions of Milestone and Mission-related Reviews as well as for Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMS) and working groups

  • Generate/coordinate briefing packages intended for Customer leadership

  • Support the interests of the customer in working groups, TIMs, and related forums

  • Provide meeting summaries to the Government Customer

  • Support the TC Risk Management Working Group and group products and review process documentation

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Masters in STEM field (e.g., physics, engineering, math, etc.) with 12+ working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project

  • Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.

  • Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear and concise briefings to explain complex situations to all levels of leadership, good written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain configuration control of a document while including edits and inputs from diverse sources

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at different maturity levels in parallel

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels and backgrounds in contractor and government organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to review large amounts of information, extract and summarize the key points

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint to include chart creation, use of multiple templates, image manipulation, and drawing objects; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Organized; self-starter; good time management; ability to work independently and in multiple teams; adaptable; detail-oriented; good proof-reading skills

Desired:

  • Experience with US Department of Defense weapon systems design, systems engineering, development, testing, system integration, fielding, and operations

  • Experience as a Department of Defense government contractor

  • Knowledge of engineering and program risk management principles

  • Experience in development and planning of alternate courses of action

  • Knowledge of the DoD Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management process. Experience in the Missile Defense Agency risk management process

  • Experience in proper marking of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Classified information

  • Knowledge of Basic Statistics

  • Public speaking/presentation skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.

  • In-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission.

  • Familiarity with DOD and MDA processes and procedures.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership.

  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications.

  • Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision.

  • Ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
