Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Safety Engineer IV in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is pivotal in the engineering industry, with a focus on ensuring the safety of both personnel and facilities. The Safety Engineer IV will be instrumental in implementing and monitoring company safety programs and policies, ensuring compliance with government health and safety regulations, and conducting employee safety training.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct engineering studies to determine the safest systems and equipment, considering all factors related to personnel and facility safety.

• Develop, implement, and monitor company safety programs and policies, ensuring they meet all necessary standards and regulations.

• Conduct safety audits, accident investigations, and records data, providing recommendations based on findings.

• Conduct employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards.

• Ensure compliance with government health and safety regulations.

• Conduct safety surveys and recommend corrective action where occupational hazards exist.

• Act as a liaison with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels.

• Review procedures for compliance with environmental regulations.

• Use Microsoft Office Suites to manage and document safety policies, procedures, and training.

• Use leadership skills to guide less experienced engineering personnel and to ensure the effective implementation of safety policies and procedures. Requirements • Possess strong customer service skills

• Proficient in creating and maintaining documentation

• Ability to conduct effective training sessions

• Understanding of operations within a safety engineering context

• Familiarity with procedures and policy implementation

• Compliance with industry standards and regulations

• Experience in planning processes within an engineering environment

• Ability to review and assess safety protocols

• Experience in supervising teams or projects

• Comfortable delivering presentations to various stakeholders

• Knowledge of auditing processes

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Familiarity with facility safety measures

• Ability to act as a liaison between departments or organizations

• Knowledge of payroll functions within an organization

• Degree in Engineering or a related field is required

• Ability to conduct safety assessments and provide solutions

• Experience working with suppliers in a safety engineering context

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

• Ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively

• Understanding of company policy in relation to safety engineering
