Housing Assistance Corp. Chief Financial Officer in Hyannis, Massachusetts
The CFO will oversee all financial aspects of HAC\'s operations, with a focus on supporting our mission of creating affordable housing while delivering critical social services. This role combines expertise in nonprofit financial management, grant compliance, and fundraising with experience in property development financials, including budgeting, financing, and real estate transactions. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors to align financial strategy with HAC\'s mission and goals. Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership and Strategic Planning Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with HAC\'s mission and strategic goals. Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to create financial plans that support property development projects and social service programs. Provide financial leadership, forecasting, and data-driven insights to guide organizational decision-making. Regularly update and advise the Board of Directors on HAC\'s financial performance and strategies. Property Development Financial Management Oversee financial operations for HAC\'s affordable housing projects, including cost tracking, financial modeling, and profitability analysis. Lead financial due diligence for real estate acquisitions and development feasibility studies. Manage construction budgets, project financing (including debt and equity), and financial compliance for property development initiatives. Work with development and property management teams to ensure efficient operations and maximize revenue generation. Nonprofit and Social Services Financial Management Manage financial operations for HAC\'s social service programs, ensuring compliance with grants, government contracts, and donor requirements. Oversee the preparation of grant budgets, proposals, and financial reports for funders. Develop strategies to improve program cost efficiency and enhance funding stability. Monitor the financial performance of programs to ensure alignment with social impact and financial sustainability goals. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors, funders, investors, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present financial updates, including key performance indicators, cash flow forecasts, and budget performance reports. See company Website for full job description Qualifications and Experience Education: Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification strongly preferred. Required Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with expertise in nonprofit and property development financial management. Proven experience in managing grants, fundraising budgets, and compliance for social service programs. Extensive knowledge of affordable housing development, including project budgeting, financing, and real estate transactions. Experience managing diverse revenue streams, such as government grants, private donations, and real estate income. Skills: Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting skills. Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting regulations, grant compliance, and fundraising strategies. Leadership and team management capabilities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to align financial planning with organizational goals. Familiarity with financial systems and tools, including accounting software used by nonprofits and property development organizations.
