Job Summary
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will support various aspects of our financial management processes and cycles including, but not limited to, financial variance analyses, budgeting & forecasting, grant accounting and reporting, monthly close responsibilities, financial reporting, and ad hoc analyses. Requires cross departmental collaboration throughout the organization. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, the annual financial audit, tax returns and other regulatory filings as needed. Ensure transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal polices and controls are followed; communicate exceptions to management.
This position will have a hybrid work arrangement with work from home 2 days per week; 3 days per week in GSEMA’s Andover, MA office; occasional work days in GSEMA’s Waltham office, or as directed.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• Seven (7) plus years of previous accounting work experience including financial analyses, budgeting, and grant accounting
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and other functional areas to further Council goals
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills, processes and software applications
• Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems
• Ability to handle high volume tasks
• Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness and quality of work; excellent attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality
• Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment
