Battelle Energy Alliance dba Idaho National Laboratory Quality Department Manager in Idaho
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Quality Department Manager. Our team works onsite with a 4x10 schedule (Monday through Thursday) located out of the Material and Fuels Complex (MFC) facility in Idaho.
You will report to MFC Nuclear Acquisitions and Qualtiy management and lead a multi-discipline MFC Quality Department.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the multi-discipline MFC Quality Department.
- Manage hiring actions for team vacancies; Construct team members’ performance and professional development plans; Evaluate and address team members’ performance and development and ensure Quality Engineer and Inspector responsibilities are planned, performed, and verified observing INL policy.
- Assign, direct, and track work of Quality Engineers and Inspectors at MFC.
- Collaborate with the MFC Management and the appropriate Home Organization Quality Director/Manager to develop strategic goals and tactical implementation plans/procedures. Track progress toward goals and report metrics, milestones, and accomplishments.
- Plan and manage resources, including the department’s budget, M&TE, and supplies.
- Implement Quality programs and procedures at MFC per PDD-13000, “Quality Assurance Program Description” Provide technical support to MFC line organizations; nuclear facility managers; Interface with customers; act as an ambassador for quality.
- Maintain proficiency in Quality Management processes and nondestructive examination methods.
- Ensure all operations are performed safely and per approved published policies, procedures, and manuals.
*Minimum Requirements: *
- Bachelor of Science**in Engineering or related science and three years of management or supervisory experience along with four years of nuclear experience.
- The ability to read and interpret, blueprints, P&IDs and welding symbols.
- Nuclear experience is defined as, “experience acquired at a nuclear reactor (commercial, production, training, test, military, or research reactors) and includes experience acquired in reactor facility startup activities or operation.
- Experience in design, construction, maintenance, metal fabrication or related technical services that are job-related (e.g., radiation protection, radiochemistry, preoperational test engineer, safety and health, NDE, welding, quality) may be considered.
- Appropriate research, or teaching, or both may be counted as nuclear experience.”
- One year of experience (operational or outage) at any type of power plant (e.g., gas, coal) may be counted as nuclear experience.
- **In lieu of a Bachelor of Science, candidates with the following education/experience combinations will be considered and transcripts will be requested before an interview: 10 years of job-related experience and an applicable associate’s degree (60 credit hours)
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

- The target pay range for this position is $155,285 - $175,922 annually. The full pay range is $89,652 $215,160 . At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
