Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH. Responsibilities You will perform maintenance on uninterrupted power equipment. You will use electrical power technology, general electrical maintenance techniques, or high voltage electrical safety methods to verify equipment operation. You will diagnose malfunctions to replace related equipment (e.g., sensors, batteries, gauges, contractors, relay, solid state boards, inverters, rectifiers). You will record readings to monitor uninterrupted power systems (UPS) during operations. Working Conditions: Exposed to gas and diesel smoke. Works inside buildings and outside in inclement weather conditions, and in cramped areas with low overheads. Exposed to battery acid, loud noise areas, high temperature pipes and equipment, and discomfort from fumes, moisture, and temperature extremes. Emergency work is performed outside in inclement weather and also in areas that are extremely noisy, such as the Explosives Test areas. Works with and around high voltage and in vaults and stations containing transformers and switching gear.
