Make a Difference

The Birth Doula is responsible for following an individual mom/family through the birthing process to provide emotional, physical and informational

support. The doula will do a prenatal interview, have contact with the family between the interview and onset of labor, work with the family at

the hospital during the labor and birth process, stay for 1-2 hours following the birth to provide assistance, and do a postpartum follow-up visit

or phone call.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of approved DONA International doula training required.

  • Available to be on call to an expectant family without hours set in advance.

  • Prior experience with birthing families is preferred, but not required.

  • Must be able to work independently and able to work as a team member at the bedside with other care providers.

  • Have a knowledge of comfort measures for laboring women, doulas must be able to work independently prior to labor as well as be a team member at the bedside.

  • Available to be on call to an expectant family without hours set in advance.
