Summary
We are a leading laboratory equipment organization that manufactures our own instruments and offers lab equipment services. We are currently growing and looking to add a new Customer Support Lead Metrologist/Engineer to our team. This role involves supporting laboratory instrument repairs onsite at a local facility.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, validate, and repair multivendor instrumentation including Waters Acquity and Alliance systems at customer sites with best-in-class service.
Provide scheduled and unscheduled corrective maintenance for customers, including warranty services within a prescribed time frame and established maintenance protocols.
Deliver customer familiarization for instrument operation and maintenance.
Communicate service offerings including training, support, software, laboratory services products, and field upgrades.
Partner with customers to understand their analytical workflow and applications.
Support the local instrument sales representatives to help secure new instrument orders.
Provide service that helps drive the sale of new service agreements, service agreement upgrades, and instrument add-ons to existing service contracts.
Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills and actively interface with peers and customers.
Develop organizational awareness of other functional groups and product lines.
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the installation, warranty, and service agreement documentation standards.
Contribute to account profitability through efficient execution and service delivery.
Perform timely uploads and downloads of required service data to ensure the integrity of service records.
Maintain assigned assets including company vehicle, tools, test equipment, telecommunication equipment, and assigned service parts inventory.
Proactively develop technical and soft skills to maintain and enhance our value proposition to the customer.
Enhance product quality by proactively reporting improvement opportunities via the quality notification process.
Seek higher-level certification through participation in company-sponsored training and development offerings.
Complete all administrative tasks including time reporting and assigned training.
Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Life Science (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of analytical chemistry experience (HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV, TLC).
3+ years in a leadership role managing analytical instrumentation projects.
Experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and providing qualification services in a laboratory setting.
UPLC/HPLC experience with extensive troubleshooting skills in Reverse Phase and Normal Phase Chromatography.
Experience using a multimeter to repair electronics such as replacing boards, power supplies, fuses, etc.
GxP experience with instrument PM protocols, IQ, OQ, PQ, and controlled documents.
Advanced knowledge of analytical equipment, laboratory environment, and/or instrument control software.
Vendor-issued certification on relevant laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices as defined by company and customer site safety code.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in handling advanced and complicated technical and interpersonal situations.
Ability to drive miscellaneous business projects through completion.
Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with hours generally from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, although there is some flexibility once training is completed. This role is based onsite at a corporate facility, with no travel to other sites required. The team consists of about six others, working closely with local scientists.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
