Job Title: Operations Manager
Job Description
We are a company that specializes in infection prevention solutions, particularly in the healthcare sector. We are known for our innovative technologies aimed at preventing the transmission of infections. This Operations Manager will support the Indianapolis service center and manufacturing. This business is split into two sections: the service and fixing of electronic hospital devices and the production of the products that go inside those devices. There is a clean room for manufacturing onsite as well as a lab and service center. This manager will work with the VP of Operations as well as the Logistics Supervisor on the resources, planning, and production of products. They will provide lean manufacturing continuous improvement support while managing a small team of engineers and technicians. This role is part of the succession planning to become the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure productivity and efficiency.
Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet customer demands.
Lead, mentor, and develop the manufacturing and warehouse team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Analyze production data and generate reports for management.
Coordinate with other departments, including supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure smooth operations.
Implement Lean manufacturing principles and drive initiatives to minimize waste.
Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
Identify training needs and facilitate professional development for team members.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role that includes managing teams, production scheduling, and resource planning.
Strong experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma Certification preferred).
Proficiency in manufacturing processes, program management, time studies, project management, supervision, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Process Improvement, Lean Principles, Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt, Process Engineering, Six Sigma, and Manufacturing Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in succession planning for leadership roles.
Opportunities to travel to the HQ in Australia.
Ability to manage and lead new sites while contributing ideas for growth.
Work Environment
Onsite manufacturing with a mix of office, manufacturing, and clean room settings.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $70.00/hr.
