We are seeking a dynamic operations manager to lead our Indianapolis office, which is comprised of experts in solid waste engineering, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, geotechnical engineering, construction quality assurance, drilling services and construction materials testing laboratories. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and driving operational success across these diverse fields. This role requires a strategic leader who can oversee all aspects of the office's operations, including staff development, financial performance, and client relations, while ensuring the continued growth and excellence of our services.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership & Management: Collaborate with and mentor departmental managers, ensuring effective leadership and operational excellence across all teams.

  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Manage and integrate efforts across diverse disciplines, including solid waste engineering, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, geotechnical engineering, construction quality assurance, drilling services and construction materials testing laboratories.

  • Financial Oversight: Evaluate business performance through analysis of financial statements (e.g., Profit/Loss Statements) and other performance metrics, ensuring budgeted profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Staff Development: Collaborate and assist departmental managers to recruit, hire, and maintain a highly skilled and diverse staff, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Vision: Provide market analysis and establish a clear strategic direction for Indiana operations. Develop synergies with other Atlas offices and national accounts to expand the client base and secure future work.

  • Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture both in the office and in the field, complying with Atlas' rigorous safety standards.

  • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of the office building, including relevant utilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive management experience in consulting services, with at least 5 years managing large, diverse teams.

  • Education: An undergraduate degree in engineering, environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, or related fields is required. An MBA or other relevant certifications in management or finance is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Strong organizational skills with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Office Suite and ERP software (preferably Deltek).

  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
