Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$17.30 - $39.06
Responsibilities:
Understands and follows corporate, and departmental procedures, including good manufacturing practices, safety, and other applicable regulations.
Helps ensure that people, and their environment are safe and that company policies concerning safety are followed.
Needs to have a strong mechanical aptitude. Specialist will be required to assemble and disassemble machinery for processing of materials.
Makes interpretations of data generated and suggest subsequent experimentation.
Offers ways to improve the efficiency of time utilization, equipment design and configurations and process improvements
Ability to accurately dispense material as requested without supervision.
Can accurately execute written and verbal directions, including material testing, complex experimental designs and/or process scaling up to pilot plant level.
Plans own work schedule and operates with minimal supervision, level of independence increases with experience in the salary class and equipment familiarity.
Capable of carrying out multiple daily activities in parallel.
Keeps accurate documentation including proper use of laboratory notebooks or pilot plant executable records, provides written summaries for supervision, when requested.
Summarizes, prepares, and tabulates data and coordinates activities with other laboratories and support groups.
Has basic understanding of computer systems and programs for the development project activities.Familiar with control or automation systems such as Delta V.
Demonstrates good communication skills and works well in a team environment.
Specialist will be required to Clean room gowning, wear respirators and safety equipment during processing and cleaning of equipment / rooms.
Knows the processes used for the manufacture of drug substance and/or solid oral drug products.
Can operate most pilot scale equipment used in the division.
Has the knowledge and experience in the set-up and operation of most tablet testing instrumentation.
Has a knowledge operation for a variety of chemical processes.
Can operate most process optimization equipment in the technology laboratories such as roller compactor, wet granulators, tablet presses, coating operations, and encapsulation equipment, etc.
Trains and guides others in equipment operation and processing technique.
Contributes to the development and implementation of appropriate analytical methodologies.
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

Additional Skills:
Demonstrated learning agility to operate a variety of new equipment, systems, etc.
Experience in the handling of controlled drugs.
Strong documentation skills.
Must have reasonable computer skills to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate, both written and verbal, across levels and function.
Strong organization skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, request, including planning, leading and implementing.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and ambiguity.
Demonstrated initiative to solve problems, troubleshoot issues and learn new processes and computer system applications.
Teamwork / interpersonal skills.
Post-secondary education is preferred.
