Job Description General cleaning of classrooms, offices, dorms, and athletic facilities in a university setting. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metal work. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs or as specified in contract. Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow or as specified by contract. Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Sweep and pickup trash on the parking lot and entrances or as specified by contract. Cleans all sinks, commodes, and mirrors. Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use thereof. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred, and one to three months experience and/or training. Prior custodial experience strongly preferred. Must have ability to pass criminal background check. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds. Additional Information Part-time position.
