People * Customers * Trust We are seeking applicants for a Purchasing Agent in our International Falls, Minnesota Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America. Principle Responsibilities: Procure materials and/or services for mill or area of mill. Manage insurance system to protect the legal interests of the company Manage vendor base (add/changes/deletes, pre-qualification, evaluations, reviews, visits, negotiations, quotes, rate schedules, and contracts). Manage the problem solving of vendor invoices and receiving issues (including match discrepancy report, over 90-day receivers, invoice problem list, and closing of purchase orders) Complete monthly audit requirements Ensure the timely expediting and receipt of purchase orders Complete special projects as assigned Develop and execute contracts Manage Mill salvage equipment and material sales Analyze vendor information for cost/benefit to organization Provide coverage/support for the other Purchasing Agents as directed Provide weekend duty support Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers. Basic Qualifications: Strong written and verbal skills, self-motivated, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong listening, evaluating, and problem-solving skills. Ability to create alternative solutions and meet deadlines. Solid working knowledge of computer systems including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently Strong interpersonal skills required. Must be authorized to work in the U.S Preferred Qualifications: BS degree in Business Management, purchasing, finance or equivalent experience 1-2 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment Strong logistics/transportation skills PCA provides a competitive comprehensive benefits package.
