Vistra Analyst - Business Intelligence and Portfolio Analytics in Irving, Texas

Job Summary

As a Business Intelligence and Strategy Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to help support business decisions. The successful candidate will have strong experience in statistical analysis and data modeling, and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify trends and patterns in data. The BI Data Analyst will use modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, identify, and analyze data.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collecting and interpreting complex data sets from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets and other systems.

  • Conducting advanced analysis of structured and unstructured datasets using statistical tools and software, such as R, SAS, or Python

  • Developing and implementing data collection processes, implementing ETL strategies that optimize data quality and automating those processes.

  • Collaborating with teams to identify and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for business decisions.

  • Apply a wide variety of high-level statistical and mathematical techniques to large data sets to generate value out of it and create analysis that can be used to solve business cases.

  • Preparing regular and ad hoc reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

  • Work with key personnel and strategic partners to define reporting needs and follow through with partner(s) to develop the tools

  • Has Subject Matter Expert responsibility for analyzing and developing improvements to business process

  • Provide direction and guidance to junior analysts and offshore teams

Experience, Education & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years (or Master's plus 2 year, or equivalent 6 years) of professional experience in data analysis or a related field

  • Strong experience in statistical analysis and data modeling, with proficiency in SQL programming and statistical software, such as R,Python, Tableau, Power BI, and/or data visualization.

  • Ability to lead, track, and communicate status of team initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to be trustworthy and dependable

  • Demonstrate strong analytic skills and attention to detail

  • 2-3+ years experience with customer facing and project coordination/mgt methods required

  • Excellent negotiating, consensus building and conflict resolution skills

  • Skill in developing process flows
