Job Summary:

Caterpillar is currently seeking a cloud architect to join the Enterprise Cloud Adoption (eCAT) team within Caterpillar IT to be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions using AWS services. This role requires an in depth understanding of serverless architecture, data services, cloud infrastructure, and best practices for cloud security and compliance. What You Will Do:

  • Maintain and utilize relevant industry expertise

  • Build long-term, strategic roadmaps for serverless / container usage at Caterpillar (internally, as well as partnered with the business IT organizations)

  • Provide leadership and best practices on solution architecture and security, following the Well-Architected Framework

  • Provide cloud technology leadership, guidance, and expertise to other team members

  • Provide consultation on best practices for teams on their cloud journey

  • Deploy or integrate cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from customers

  • Perform implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions

  • Assist the Enterprise Cloud team, peers, and customers with documentation, training and usability efforts.

What You Have:

  • Strong enterprise-scale operations, with proficiency in areas of serverless workloads including: Lamda, API Gateway

  • Experience with technical leadership or lead developer role

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex global network

  • Experience developing architectural designs, processes and procedures.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment

  • Associate level (or above) architect certification from Microsoft, AWS or Google.

  • The ideal location for this role is Peoria-IL, Dallas-TX, Nashville-TN

  • MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO THIS LOCATION AND Work out of the office 3 times a week.

  • This position may require 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
