Job Description

About the team:

The Consumer and Business Banking Technology team focuses on four main areas, Product, ATM, Branch, and Mobile & Online. This team supports all of them for application support, devops support, performance engineering and system engineering. We are working to streamline processes using AI across all of these, starting with production support.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Spearheading AI OPS design & implementation for driving IT support & operational efficiency.

  • Implementing trend and anomaly detection using machine learning algorithms.

  • Designing and implementing automated workflows to detect anomalies and trigger remediation actions without (or with least) human intervention.

  • Partnering with Infrastructure, Network, Cloud Operations & Product teams to integrate AI OPS solutions and ensure to achieve 99.99% availability .

  • Promoting engineering and resiliency best practices

  • Streamlining and rationalizing the IT enablement process.

  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and trends.

  • Assessing the business impact of technical choices, assisting with technical problems as they arise and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

  • Work with Product and Delivery teams to develop scalable solutions and conduct brainstorming sessions to develop solutions for business needs.

  • Sets the direction of the architectural roadmap, establishing strategic objectives that drive architecture and technical approach.

  • Determines the Return-on-Investment for specific engineering initiatives and determines appropriate levels of investment for given strategic horizons.

  • Drives and sets the culture of quality and timely code reviews across the organization while encouraging teams to consider release complications. Provides guidance on reviews conducted by others. Champions the engineering organization with an ability to understand and deliver to real user needs.

  • Drives the organizational testing strategy and uses quality metrics to identify gaps. Works with all teams to recommend solutions that are in accordance with accepted testing frameworks and the testing pyramid.

  • Actively works with the security team to set and refine organization-wide security strategy. Fosters a security first mindset across the organization. Drives security awareness and culture across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience, including implementing AI OPS solutions.

Required Technical Skills/Experience

  • Hand on experience with Generative AI

  • Ability to designing and guide development of a set of technical products around Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and Kafka using Microservices Architecture .

  • Experience in Azure public cloud as well as on-prem Kubernetes based cloud environment deployments.

  • Advanced technologist enabling strong coding practices and solid design decisions well as string expertise in Database Backend technologies (both SQL and NoSQL like Cassandra).

  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and performance tuning aspects of Java and IBM Middleware applications.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in Financial and Banking industry is a plus and exposure to payments is especially desirable.

  • Experience coaching the engineering organization on a debugging mindset with a view of using the appropriate tools for specific needs.

  • Experience leading incident response across an engineering organization.

  • Proven collaboration and influencing skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

Location Expectations

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $149,515.00 - $175,900.00 - $193,490.00
