STEEL MACHINERY MANUFACTURING Project Manager (PM) in IRVING, Texas

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing production processes, driving efficiency, and minimizing costs across the production cycle. Working closely with the production and engineering teams, this individual will analyze and improve manufacturing methods, production processes, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. A key aspect of this role involves working with cost estimators to determine material, labor, and production costs, enabling the company to remain competitive and maintain profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

o

Evaluate production costs, labor hours, and raw material expenses by analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related technical documentation, while identifying opportunities to reduce production costs, improve quality, and streamline manufacturing processes

o

Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and the sales team to develop accurate cost estimates, project timelines, and resource allocations, while working with equipment vendors and operators to implement process improvements and optimize production workflows

Analyze whether manufacturing components in-house or purchasing them externally is more cost-efficient, while identifying opportunities to reduce production costs, improve quality, and streamline manufacturing processes

Conduct process evaluations through research, including examining product design, assembly methods, tooling, and material choices.

o

Estimate manufacturing steps and labor time for accurate project routing within internal business management systems.

o

Work closely with the production scheduling team to ensure all steps are well-coordinated and deadlines are met efficiently, while collaborating with the purchasing department, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure a seamless flow of production

Collaborate with the sales team to prepare accurate and competitive quotes and bids for customers.

o

Maintain and back up cost data within the internal cost database to ensure accurate tracking of project budgets and resource allocations, while performing additional duties as assigned to ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process meet company standards for quality and cost-effectiveness

Additional Responsibilities:

o

Assist in managing production budgets and keeping projects on track financially.

o

Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure smooth communication and resolve any production-related issues.
