Summary - Precisely specify functional reqs, design and test components and/or systems, integrate components to produce final design and evaluate overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. In addition to design and development, may work in testing, production or maintenance. Assist in planning project goals/methods, training customers and internal personnel, presenting tech presentations, providing support to industry tradeshows and respond to customer inquiries, requests and RFXs. Meet and present network designs, solutions and products to customers. Write tech papers (e.g., White Papers) for publication in order to inform, educate and ultimately support sale of co.s products and services.

Experience:

5 yrs exp in telecommunications/data communications engineering, incl an in-depth knowledge of telecommunication and network protocols, SONET, DWDM, optical access such as PON and other broadband networking technologies/specs, as well as data.
