Job Description Summary
This position is for an individual contributor 'hardware owning' engineer reporting to an Engineering Manager within the Aviation Engineering Division's Production Technologies team. As a hardware owner you will own all engineering functions related to the production of assigned aero-derivative components in Combustors and Structures commodities for GE Shops.
In this role, you will be on the front lines of a new organization that is dedicated to improving the producibility, enhancing the Engineering-Supply chain relationship, and using SQDC to dramatically improve the health of the supply chain and product to enable the business to fulfil our customers' expectations.
Examples of specific tasks you will be responsible for are: producibility design changes, on-going manufacturing support, and strategic improvements on production related processes for the assigned commodity.

Essential Responsibilities:

For the role, the main responsibilities are listed below.
With the guidance of experienced engineers, provide design ownership for assigned hardware including the engineering support of manufacturing issues and producibility/cost projects as well as the technical interface with other functions.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to address delivery problems.
Regularly communicate with commodity leaders, product line focals, and industry experts while promoting open and honest dialogue.
Execute the engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability of assigned components.
Use engineering judgement to challenge entrenched processes and recommend improvements.
Use analytical thinking, technical experience, and mentoring from senior engineers to execute on project deliverables in order to meet business goals.
Qualifications/Requirements :
Having a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
The capability of using MS Office Skills.
Upper-intermediate or above level proficiency in English.
Graduated from Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering Departments of universities (post graduate degree is a plus)
At least 2 years of experience in a design role. Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS or other commercial FEA software is a plus
Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations
Have strong engineering outlook, hands-on engineering foundation and eager to learnExcellent command of written and spoken English
Desired Characteristics:

Familiarity with CAD software (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
Computer proficiency and familiarity with design, test and analysis tools
Preferably experience in areas such as aerospace, gas turbine or internal combustion engine design and analysis
