Tompkins Community Bank Employee Experience Manager in Ithaca, New York

As a member of the HR Leadership Team, the Employee Experience Manager is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the employee experience team and drive the development and implementation of innovative people strategies to enhance the overall employee experience.

This role involves creating a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work culture that supports the organization's goals and objectives. The Employee Experience Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects the employee experience, including employee development, performance management, and employee relations, as well as designing and implementing employee experience programs and initiatives to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Leadership Team to establish strategic approaches for the Human Resources and Learning & Development functions within Tompkins.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and values.

  • Lead and mentor the employee experience team to ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services and programs.

  • Collaborate with talent acquisition to support efforts, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.

  • Design and implement employee development programs to support career growth and skill enhancement.

  • Establish performance management systems to drive employee engagement and productivity.

  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Conduct regular employee surveys and feedback sessions to gather insights and drive continuous improvement.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of initiatives designed to support people strategies, modify and adapt as needed to meet the objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide strategic guidance on organizational development and workforce planning.

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote diversity and inclusion within the organization, including creating and maintaining inclusive policies and practices that support a diverse workforce.

  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in people management and employee experience management.

  • Develops the annual budget for the functional area adhering to budget parameters.

  • Supervises direct reports:

  • Assists in the selection of team members as appropriate.

  • Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new team members.

  • Manage employee performance, coach and develop team members and lead to support continuous improvement.

  • Keeps team members informed of pertinent Company information, policies and procedures; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.

  • Promote consistency and accountability in the development and application of policies, procedures and processes.

  • Adhere to current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment, which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

  • Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business or a related field.

  • Seven to ten years of human resource management experience required.

  • Experience working with people from across all levels of the organization.

  • SHRM or HRCI Certified.

  • Experience in organizational development, change management, and employee engagement.

  • Excellent written, verbal and strong presentation skills.

  • Exceptional ability to build relationships, manage expectations and influence at all levels of the organization in a collaborative environment.

  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands.

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinking, problem solving abilities, and a passion for driving positive change.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • General knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting the Human Resources function.

  • Must be proficient in learning and working with various software and tools.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time across the Tompkins footprint.

Pay Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
