Insight Global Pipe Shop Foreman in Jacksonville, Florida
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Pipe Shop Foreman to join one of our clients based in Jacksonville, FL. This is a direct placement opportunity and requires 100% on-site work in their Jacksonville office as well as frequent travel to Naval Station Mayport.
Day to Day:
- Supervise and manage the operations of the Pipe Shop team for all ship repair activities in support of the US Navy
- Act as a liaison between the company and end customer
- Plan, assign and schedule work of the team members based on shipboard repair projects
- Determine schedule and assignments based on priority and quantity of equipment and workers
- Assist in program and project management by providing prospective work estimates, hours needed to complete work, material procurement and quotes for project duration
- Lead all managerial activities related to those on the team-- performance reviews, hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, firing, employee training, reporting work-related issues, uphold safe working conditions, investigate accidents/injuries if needed

Skills and Requirements
High school diploma
5 to 10 years of experience in ship repair industry, specific to pipe work
Experience managing a team
Exceptional communication (verbal and written), computer skills (Excel), and presentation skills
Ability to travel to Mayport on a daily basis
Ability to gain access to military and government vessels and shipyards
Ability to work in a shop environment, pier side: standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms - Prior experience with ship repair in support of military/government customers and/or prior military experience
Understanding of program and project management for ship repair services
Solid understanding of NAVSEA policy, procedures and standards null
