Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager for a dynamic role based in Jacksonville, Florida. The Construction Project Manager will oversee project financials, administration, implementation, and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects. This individual will lead the project team through all facets of the project and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders. The role involves managing a portfolio of both smaller and larger multi-building or complex construction projects, particularly focusing on commercial retrofit air conditioning systems and HVAC projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and developing communication plans with stakeholders to provide timely project updates.

  • Lead all aspects of project administration, ensuring adherence to contract penalty clauses and/or liquidated damages, analyzing reporting to identify project deficiencies, and providing guidance on corrective actions.

  • Manage project financials including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, and overseeing preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.

  • Validate project scope, cost, and schedule by reviewing contract documents, holding internal meetings, establishing customer expectations, and identifying risks while developing mitigation plans.

  • Utilize properly qualified subcontractors, manage the subcontractor RFQ process, award subcontracts, oversee subcontractor execution, and collaborate with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations, and project safety.

  • Create and maintain project schedules utilizing tasks, dependencies, and milestones.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Experience with HVAC/Mechanical systems.

  • Project management experience with project values ranging from $500K to $1.5M (HVAC portion) and overall projects up to $20M.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ideally managing 5+ projects at one time.

  • Willingness to be onsite as required.

  • OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 Training is provided).

  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project (ideal but not mandatory).

  • Knowledge of financials including budgets and change orders.

  • Experience with large commercial construction projects, specifically HVAC projects involving units of at least 100 tons.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Project Management is a plus.

  • OSHA 30 certification is a strong asset (facilitated if required).

Work Environment

The candidate will need to be local to the NE Florida area and open to travel if the local backlog is complete. The role involves a hybrid work environment, with 50% of time spent managing project sites and 50% in the office. Most projects will be in the greater Jacksonville area, but candidates must be open to traveling to Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Daytona areas. A company vehicle will be provided, and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be part of the pre-screening check. The projects primarily involve retrofitting existing HVAC equipment in commercial buildings, public buildings, and schools. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.69/hr.
