Job Title: Trailer Mechanic

Job Overview:

• Location: Jacksonville, FL

• Pay: $25-30 per hour

• Shift: 8 am to 5 pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs and installations on trailers, chassis, and containers. Most work will be performed on trailers rather than containers. Daily tasks will be assigned during morning meetings with the foreman.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and installations on trailers, chassis, and containers.

• Attend daily meetings with the foreman to discuss tasks.

• Work on one trailer at a time.

• Swap trailer chassis and move boxes from one chassis to another.

• Perform fabrication tasks.

• Repair or replace trailer doors, hinges, metal floors, wall panels, and trailer roofs.

• Perform aluminum and steel welding, primarily MIG aluminum and Stick welding on steel.

• Conduct electrical wiring, mostly DC wiring, for lights, brakes, and other electrical components on the chassis.

• Add items to trailers as needed, including lift gates.

• Use a forklift to move materials around the facility.

Essential Skills

• 6+ months experience working on trailers and chassis.

• Experience performing repairs on trailers and chassis.

• Metal fabrication skills.

• Experience installing metal flooring and metal sheets into trailers.

• Ability to swap trailer chassis.

• Fabrication of metal frames, bumpers, etc.

• MIG and Stick welding on aluminum and steel.

• Experience installing and wiring lights.

• Proficiency in DC electrical wiring.

• Ability to install or repair hinges, doors, roofs, frames, and panels.

• Troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of hydraulics and diesel engines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined.

• Possess own tools.

• Fabrication experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
