Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Water Plant Operator to support a contract based at Naval Station Mayport, FL.

RATE OF PAY: $36.35/hr. plus benefits

DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

25040 SEWAGE PLANT OPERATOR description from the Service Contract Act (SCA) Dictionary of Occupations (DOT): Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and test results to determine load requirements. Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. Maintains log of operations and records meter and gas readings. Gives directions to wastewater treatment plant attendants and sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance. Maintain the flow of work in Wastewater and Water Plants.

Duties specific to this job at this location, if different from SCA description:

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1) May collect sewage sample, using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests using testing equipment, such as a calorimeter.

2) May operate and maintain power-generating equipment to provide steam and electricity for plant.

3) Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFCATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two (2) years advanced education or equivalent specialized training

Two (2) years of journeyman level experience in this trade

Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

U.S. Citizenship

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (DOD CAC)

CERTIFICATE, LICENSE, REGISTRATION:

Valid Driver's License

Class “C” State of Florida D.E.P. Water Operator License or Better
