Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

Job Description

CH-53 Aircraft Mechanics and Avionics Techs will perform Organizational Level (O-Level) flight line maintenance on CH-53E aircraft. This role involves both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at HMHT-302 on CH-53E aircraft at MCAS New River, NC. The primary focus will be on CH-53E (Echo) models until 2026, after which the focus will switch to CH-53K (Kilo) models.

Shift : 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday: 1500 - 2330

Pay Rate : $37.03 an hour ($32.10 Base Rate + $4.93 Health & Wellness/Fringe Pay)

Responsibilities

  • Perform Flight Line Maintenance required to keep CH-53E aircraft mission ready.

  • Perform pre and post flight inspections / checks.

  • Perform and support Corrosion Control to ensure aircraft services are performed in accordance with governing directives.

  • Support scheduled inspections as specified by applicable Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC).

  • Provide aircraft Emergency Reclamation and Salvage services per governing directives.

  • Check aircraft for tools and other foreign objects that could potentially put the aircraft or aircrew at risk.

  • Review and ensure all documentation such as work guides and checklists are accurate and completed prior to issuing to crews or individuals.

  • Inventory and maintain tools, and properly handle hazardous materials/waste per the activity's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and local governing directives.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned aircraft and Environmental Control Systems in accordance with required Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRC's) and approved directives.

  • Examine, inspect, investigate, repair, and provide recommendations to the local Maintenance Control and/or government agency as required.

  • Ensure personnel respond to rapid task changes and are available to respond to emergent maintenance requirements.

  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and have the mobility to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Regularly talk or hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum four (3) years of CH-53 Flight Line Aircraft Mechanic experience.

  • Must have Experience with CH-53E or CH-53K models, or MH-53 models.

  • CDI qualification in required.

  • Flight Line / O-Level maintenance experience.

  • Must be able to safely move about an aircraft maintenance environment.

  • Ability to sit, stand, squat, and walk for extended periods during shifts.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearance and base access.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • United States Marine Corps veterans are ideal candidates.

  • Must be eligible for a Secret Clearance

Work Environment

Work will be performed at MCAS New River in Jacksonville, NC, on both the Flight Line and in Hangars. Primarily second shift positions are available from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The pay period is from Saturday to Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.03 - $37.03
