Aviation Snow Supervisor Job Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Aviation Supervisor will assist the airport base management team to ensure that services are delivered to customer(s) with the utmost level of safety and quality. This position is responsible for supervising the staff, processes and gaining complete understanding of snow removal operations. The Supervisor needs to be available to support snow events whenever they occur.

Aviation Snow Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising other team members.

  • Deliver clear and timely instructions, oversees the work of other employees/contractors to ensure the successful completion of tasks or deliverables.

  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, understanding the inevitable variables, and facilitating corrections.

  • Train new employees on various types of equipment operation.

  • Motivate others to grow and be better, elevating the team

  • Resolution of challenges, discrepancies, or miscommunications

  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

  • Effectively communicate at various level within the organization

  • Ensures operational readiness of equipment by making sure repairs, evaluating equipment performance.

  • Understand various company systems with an expectation of constantly increasing level of knowledge

  • Manage daily schedules and track the progress of deliverables and repairs and report progress for base readiness

  • Prepare and presentation of reports on productivity, staffing, effectiveness, and success

  • Participate in recruiting efforts for seasonal and casual team members

Aviation Snow Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Obtain and Maintain an Airport Security Badge

  • Must have a 4x4/all wheel drive vehicle that is safe to operate in heavy snow fall and icy conditions

  • Proven experience as a supervisor or similar management role

  • Computer skills in MS Office

  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • A positive can-do attitude

  • Valid Drivers License
