Cleaning Technologies Group Field Service Technician in Jamestown, New York

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Jamestown, NY

Department: Technical Service

Reports To: Director of Technical Service

Exemption Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Pay: $50,000/year

Summary: Perform work involving the skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment functioning. Repair, install, adjust, or maintain production and processing machinery or systems. Duties may include the installation, aligning, balancing, pipe fitting, dismantle, or movement of machinery and equipment, repairing of electrical or mechanical equipment, according to plans.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS to PERFORM DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

4) Must be able to follow defined process and procedures in accordance with the ISO Standard

5) Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, electrical schematics, or computer-generated reports

6) Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance

7) Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges

8) Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance

9) Test and inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, wear, and proper functionality

10) Repair, inspect, operate, or test machines, equipment, or structures, to diagnose machine malfunctions, plumbing, electrical, and pneumatic using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment, such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices

11) Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment

12) Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs

13) Reassemble after completion of inspections, testing, and repairs

14) Start machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists

15) Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance

16) Inspect or test damaged machines and mark defective areas and advise supervisor/manager of repairs needed

17) Study time, motion, methods, or speed involved in maintenance, production, or other operations to establish standard production rate or improved efficiency

18) Verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards by observing worker performance

19) Update and maintain databases associated with calls, service orders, maintenance, repairs, customer information, and interactions

20) Handle personal travel arrangements

21) Appropriate and clean appearance when meeting with or visiting customers

Supervisory Responsibility: None

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 2-3 years' experience or associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 5+ years' experience

Skills: PLC Ladder Logic knowledge and experience preferred, must be proficient in Office Suite, must have project management experience, must be able to manage time, prioritize and meet deadlines, must be able to troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, pneumatics

Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform advanced level mathematics (algebra, trigonometry, strength of materials, etc.) and use industry-related calculations and formulas

Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver's license, valid passport, ability to travel overseas

Physical Demands: May be required to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to sit for periods of time, ability to stand for periods of time, ability to climb stairs, finger and manual dexterity and fine motor skills

Work Environment: Controlled environment, office setting 40% of the time (approximately), production floor 60% of the time (approximately), must always wear proper PPE

Travel: 50%-75%
