As a Process/Quality Engineer Intern, you will gather critical-to-quality process data on manufacturing activities to establish processing control limits. You will develop and improve process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process risk analysis, analyze data to inform the risk of different failure modes, and complete actions to reduce the risk of failure occurrence and non-detection. This role will likely focus on tube forming, welding, and heat treatment processes, so a background knowledge of metals manufacturing will be beneficial.
Responsibilities

Analyze data to inform the risk of different failure modes.
Complete actions to reduce the risk of failure occurrence and non-detection.
Essential Skills
Experience with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
Experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs)
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes such as welding and heat treatment
Desire to be hands-on in manufacturing and data analysis
Background in tube forming, welding, and heat treatment
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a degreed engineering program
At least a Sophomore standing in school
Interest in manufacturing processes
Work Environment
The internship will be for 3 months over the summer where you will work full time, 40-hour weeks. Alternatively, you can work part-time for 6 months once school begins. You will support industries such as Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Solar, and Pharma with stainless steel tubing. The team consists of 160 employees, with 115 in production. The engineering team is smaller and includes a Metallurgist, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Weld Engineer, Director of Technical Services, and Mechanical Designer. The role offers continued skill development through programs, training, cross-functional exposure, and trips to other locations. The company offers a strong benefits package including a quarterly bonus program.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
