Description
We have an opening for a Staff Benefits Coordinator to join our team! This team member will complete administrative duties to accurately and efficiently assist with staff benefit and wellness program operations. Responsibilities also include updating staff records regarding enrollment and handling billing. The coordinator will also communicate with internal and external partners, and responding to customer inquiries regarding benefits plans.
What You'll Do
Benefits Program Administration
- Under leader direction, complete administrative duties to ensure accurate and efficient administration of benefit programs including but not limited to health, disability, life, and supplemental insurance and retirement plans. Responsible for accurate data in benefits enrollment platforms and HR software and reconciliation of deductions and company contributions. Assist with planning and implementation of open enrollment, staff benefits changes, benefits communications, and related activities. Handle compliance processes such as monitoring staff work hours for benefit eligibility. Ensure accurate transactional records. Handle billing for all benefits and processes for payment; maintain records and reconcile billing received.
Wellness Program Administration
- Administer the Wellness program as delegated by leader/s. Configure the wellness platform, assist staff with enrollment, provide event support, track staff participation, and completed other related operational duties. Assist with wellness program planning.
Coordination of Related Programs
- Ensure effective coordination of administration with other programs such as time away from work programs and workers compensation. Provide back-up support for time away from work programs, including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave, Paid Time Off, and Workers Compensation.
Customer Service
- Attend to staff and participant questions and concerns daily regarding plan design/provisions, enrollment, changes, payroll deductions/contributions, and related matters. Communicate information accurately and professionally. Research questions and issues and resolve basic issues independently. Seek assistance from experts (leader/s, vendors, etc) as needed to resolve issues and administer programs effectively. Refer staff to vendors or internal partners in alignment with customer service model.
Additional Responsibilities
- Administer quality review initiatives as directed to ensure accurate and complete records. Maintain accurate written procedures and train other staff as needed. Assess processes for efficiency, propose improvements, and lead or assist with implementation as delegated. Provide input regarding benefits design.
What You'll Need
AA degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
Two years of benefits administration or HR-related experience required; education may substitute
Ability to travel to ChildServe locations in the Des Moines metro, Ames, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City
Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language
