Senior Engineer - Mechanical / HVAC
H.F. Lenz Companyis seeking a registered, professionalSenior MechanicalEngineer experienced in mechanical and HVAC systems design to lead our projects in various commercial building sectors, including datacenters, government, corporate, hospitality and higher education. This position will work directly with projects, architects and clients that span across the country in collaboration with a nationally recognized team of Principals in Charge and engineering professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering design, project management and construction administration.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Lead building systems engineering and design projects focused in mechanical and HVAC and perform activities related to MEP consulting engineering.
Consult with Principal in Charge on business development activities and prepare proposals, project cost estimates, RFI's, submittals and deadlines.
Coordinate with various departments on specific project requirements, specifically in design of mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
Review and approve project documents, modifications and changes for quality and accuracy.
Perform engineering calculations, mechanical equipment sizing and selection.
Collaborate with engineering staff and clients throughout design process.
Mentor junior level engineers and designers.
Conduct job site observations, construction administration and engineering studies as necessary.
Professional communication with Company leadership, vendors, clients and prospective clients.
Travel to local project sites is required; some overnight travel may be expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required
Minimum 7 years of experience in MEP building systems engineering and design is required.
Experience with 2D/3D modeling software is required; Revit software experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with mechanical building systems and equipment is required.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.
License(s) and/or Certification(s):
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain valid driver’s license.
Must be authorized to work in U.S.
