U.S. Army Sustainment Command Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington

About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Maintenance Division, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Responsibilities Supervise the Ground Maintenance Branch which has several subordinate organizational units; occupations supervised include heavy mobile equipment repair, automotive repair, power distribution, painters and vehicle body repair. Plan the work of the Branch to include use of personnel, materials, and other resources. Allocate resources and distribute work to organizational groups within the Branch. Analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors; monitor subordinate supervisor work in relation to overall schedule requirements. Obtain prior approval of changes that would modify overall work schedules or effect work operations controlled by supervisors in other Branches. Provide information and advice on feasibility of work assignments as scheduled to higher level supervisors, management officials and staff organizations. Offer budget estimates and workload data to assist in developing proposed long-range schedules and work requirements. Participate with supervisors in planning conferences and meetings. Maintain balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision to include: 1) Supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders in accomplishing the work of an organizational segment or group; 2) Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors; and 3) Investigate work related problems and determine causes. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
