Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on mobile equipment, operate various machinery, and undertake general facility maintenance tasks. This role includes repairing industrial pumps, responding to spills, and documenting maintenance activities within the workorder accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Repair basic industrial pumps used to blend and transfer hazardous chemicals.

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on mobile equipment including bobcats, skidsteers, etc.

• Operate Bobcat, dump truck, plow, and welding equipment as needed.

• Handle general facility maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, sweeping floors, cutting grass, etc.

• Act as first response to spills within the facility.

• Perform other maintenance-related tasks such as cutting and threading pipe, replacing dead batteries in forklifts, and minor pump repairs.

• Properly report and document maintenance activities within the workorder accounting system.

• Heavy industrial maintenance experience is a plus

• Experience with hydraulics

• Welding experience

• Chemical or pump repair experience

• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures

Work Environment

Our company is a full-service chemical storage, handling, and distribution logistics company, specializing in the blending and transferring of hazardous chemicals. This is a heavy-duty, industrial environment where candidates must feel comfortable working near hazardous chemicals. The company is non-union with approximately 100 employees. Candidates should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, as 50% of the workday may be spent outside. The standard shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, with current overtime required on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Joliet, Illinois.

Available Shift:

1 Opening on 1st Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Currently working OT on Saturdays)
