City of Kalamazoo Kik Pool Manager in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Description/Distinguishing Features

The City of Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a dependable and responsible individual to manage Kik Pool operations this summer season.

This is seasonal/temporary employment. Candidates may work up to 40 hours per week in this position.

Examples of Duties

 

- - Supervise facility and pool staff to include lifeguards and guest service staff - Create weekly schedules for all staff - Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and pool users - Open and close the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours - Monitor pool chemicals to ensure the pool is safe for bathers - Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify and respond accordingly to any safety issues - Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions - Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests - Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool and locker rooms - Conduct training to certify lifeguards - Ensure the concession area is a safe and clean environment. - Assist with supervision of pool sales procedures, including daily cash report, monitor cash register receipts daily, and report cash over/short balances.

 

Essential Qualifications

 

  • [Must be at least 16 years of age; if 16-18 years old, must provide a work permit]{#isPasted}
  • Must be available to work between May 19 -- August 10
  • Must be Lifeguard Certified and Lifeguard Instructor Certified
    1. All necessary training and expenses are provided by the City
