As a Business Analyst, you'll be an integral part of the Customer Digital Technology team focused on customer facing software applications on the web. You will work with the digital product team and world-class developers to enable industry leading enhancements and features. You will get to interact with product owners and the design team to understand problems and friction points, then, create epics, user stories and tickets for developers on the agile team. You'll also lead the charge to ensure daily activity continues to fulfill program needs and proactively communicate progress with stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
Analysis and Requirements
Develop a thorough understanding of United Rentals business processes and operations, with a strong focus on customer experience impact.
Provide leadership and take the initiative to facilitate discussions with project stakeholders and SMEs to document, refine, and present business requirements
Articulate problem statements clearly with definitions of success including KPIs
Participate in customer experience and design discussions and provide guidance on current technical capability v. future enhancements
Participate actively in agile ceremonies for the agile team from story mapping to retrospectives, occasionally fill in for Scrum Master.
Engage actively in story mapping and other requirements gathering sessions, both, functional and non-functional requirements to ensure development squads have the right information to begin work.
Work with agile teams to groom and refine user stories and determine acceptance criteria to meet the agile team’s definition of ready
Assist in product demonstrations regularly, typically at the end of every sprint.
Organize and lead product demonstrations regularly
Communicate technical domain specific information to non-technical peers
Maintain documentation of on-going system enhancements and workflow changes
Project Management
Manage progress and identify risks, issues and gaps that could affect timelines and goals of the program.
Remove impediments by correctly escalating issues to product, design, architecture or other teams when needed.
Collaborate with project management to ensure timelines are well documented, issues are surfaced and appropriate parties are notified of changes .
Quality Assurance
Assist in performing root-cause analysis on reported bugs and other issues, working with developers and other analysts as needed to provide issue resolution.
Assist in defining and execution of regression test plans.
Perform regular post-production deployment checks.
Other
Assist Customer Digital Technology team on additional ad-hoc requests in areas such as security, data analysis, documenting existing or proposed processes.
Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Mathematics, Engineering or Business Management fields or equivalent experience
4+ years in Business Analyst or related role
Analytical with strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders and SMEs daily
Ability to work across multiple projects and manage workload
Strong experience in working with ticketing and documentation software like JIRA and Confluence
Experienced in relational database queries with strong analytical skills
Experience working with JSON format web service APIs and web technologies
Proficient with MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
This role is hybrid and expected to work schedule of: M, F remote, Tu, W, Th in office.
