Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Grant Accountant based in KANSAS CITY, Missouri. As a Grant Accountant, you will be primarily focusing on the monitoring and reviewing of grants, grant budgets, and preparing journal entries. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in budget processes, grant accounting, and preparation of journal entries will be utilized.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review grants to ensure they are being utilised correctly and efficiently

• Review grant budgets regularly to ensure funds are being allocated as planned

• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions related to grants

• Keep up-to-date records of all grants and associated budgets

• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to grant accounting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

• Act as a point of contact for grant-related queries

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

• Perform other related duties as required. Requirements • Must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in grant accounting is essential

• Advanced knowledge of budget processes required

• Ability to prepare journal entries accurately and efficiently

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to interpret and implement financial procedures and regulations

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
