Honeywell Mechanical Engineer III in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary

The Mechanical Engineer III role is an experienced level position responsible for performing and coordinating design, development, evaluation, analysis, and/or quality control functions on complex engineering projects. Other expectations include developing solutions to technical problems by applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs and/or develops new products/processes, special instruments, and unique equipment to meet specific requirements of customer orders.

  • Develops and assesses production or inspection operations and sequences, equipment, tooling gages, or acceptance equipment and processing methods required to manufacture or inspect complex components and assemblies.

  • Estimates set-up times, operating times, and flowtimes, as well as production and acceptance need.

  • Plans and performs engineering testing and development programs and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve engineering and production problems and to assure product manufacturability.

  • Assesses designs for manufacturability to assure designs can be produced.

  • Interacts with design agencies and suppliers to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues.

  • Assesses and prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost-effective improvements for product, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.

  • Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects.

You Must Have

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • United States Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Ability to provide value added coding based on understanding business process (languages and applications: SQL, Python, HTML).

  • Prior experience with code reviews, quality assurance activities.

  • Ability to identify and resolve technical problems and effectively communicating the problems to vendors, customers, and team members.

  • Prior experience with creating knowledge sharing documentation.

  • Prior experience with contributing to implementation strategy discussion for testing to ensure functionality supports business processes.
