Responsibilities
St. Joseph Medical Center is looking for a full time day shift Pharmacy Technician!
The Pharmacy Tech assists the Pharmacist in the support of the drug distribution systems, including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations, and participates in performance improvement and data collections activities. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
responsible for dosage preparation
preparation of sterile admixture using aseptic technique
inventory control, controlled substances distribution, documentation and accountability
assisting in the inspection of medication storage areas throughout the hospital
participates in providing pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
performs other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist
requires accuracy and precision
detail-oriented
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
previous hospital pharmacy technician experience, preferred
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) current or obtained within 6 months of hire date, required
State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
high school diploma or equivalent
graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program, preferred
