Stuppy Greenhouse Inc Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Associate in Kansas City, Missouri

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the selection and packaging of merchandise and materials for customers.
  • Ensure material handling and packaging requirements always meet or exceed standards.
  • Create and confirm pick tickets against customer orders
  • Safely operate the forklift when picking, staging, or filling orders.
  • Assist the shipping department in the physical loading and unloading of greenhouse parts on and off trucks.
  • Proper handling and accurate completion of paperwork to ensure order accuracy.
  • Execute Stuppy picking and inspection quality processes to ensure 100% accuracy of all orders.
  • Alert the shipping receiving supervisor when inventory discrepancies are identified.
  • Participates in daily communication processes to ensure clarity and guidance is received.
  • Participates in company improvement initiatives as requested or desired by the employee
  • Responsible for the clean-up of assigned warehouse areas daily.
  • Frequent use of a forklift to ensure the proper movement of materials being shipped to customers
  • Receives parts, components, materials, etc., and checks in goods consistent with bills of lading and order paperwork.
  • Conducts scheduled cycle counts and inventory inspections
  • Responsible for restocking and organization of the pick section of the warehouse.
  • Assist with inventory processes, such as cycle counts, year-in inventories, etc. to ensure the accuracy of available materials.
  • Inspects received materials and goods for damage, quantity, quality, and accuracy ensuring receivables are within Stuppy specifications and engineering criteria.
  • Audit receiving documents from the vendor, carrier, and ERP system to ensure accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.or equivalentwarehousing experience is required.
  • Ability to read and write and do mathematical calculations to properly fill customer orders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong self-accountability and capability to remain focused always ensuring efficient execution.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and leadership is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet shipping schedule deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift operator certification and operate a forklift is a must.
  • Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities.
  • Desire to cross-train and learn numerous processes.

Standard office and/or manufacturing environment. Ability to perform continuous physical effort (up to eight (8) hours) including frequent walking, standing, and lifting. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is constantly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms with medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 lbs. They may be frequently exposed to loud noises and bright light. Vision perception is normal for administrative duties.
