ASM Global Facility Engineer in Kenner, Louisiana
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Schedules and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and components. Conducts monthly maintenance rounds documenting deficiencies and reports them to the Director of Operations.
Schedules and operates all facility equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all authorities having jurisdiction and following all OSHA guidelines.
Operate, monitor, repair and maintain the facility’s audio-visual, environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC and lighting systems as required for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Repair and rebuild various items, such as motors, compressors and ice machines.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, filters and belts as required.
Record and log all work performed, complete work orders and compile all required reports using facility maintenance program in a timely and complete manner.
Assist other Operations Department divisions to expedite event conversions, as needed.
Operate equipment, such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines or other light power driven equipment.
May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present.
Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
Performs electrical needs, including but not limited to temporary electrical circuitry for meetings, tradeshows, concerts, etc.
Maintains and performs audio visual and sound system installations and operation.
Schedule and approved departmental time using ABI time system.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC techniques and systems.
Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
Able to read and follow schematics, blueprints, and systems manuals.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. Strong team member.
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Operate a personal computer using office applications and other standard office equipment.
Adhere to and enforce all laws, codes, ordinances, risk management, safety precautions and emergency procedures following all OSHA guidelines.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
Meet the physical demands of this job, which include lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operations of the equipment found in the facility.
Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
Operate hand tools in a safe manner.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High school graduate, and three or more years of experience at a similar facility. Stationary Engineer license preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
