Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shifts. The role includes ensuring proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed. The Pharmacist will conduct final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and providing proper directions for use. This position requires a willingness to train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding, and occasionally assist with shipping and handling of prescription orders. The ideal candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shifts.

  • Ensure proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed.

  • Conduct final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and providing proper directions for use.

  • Train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding.

  • Assist with shipping and handling of prescription orders when needed.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of Pharmacist experience, ideally from a retail or hospital setting.

  • PharmD degree.

  • Order verification and prior authorization experience.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy-related tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and The Compounder (PK software product).

  • Knowledge of QS-1 preferred but not required.

  • Experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.

Work Environment

This position involves working within a closed-door specialty pharmacy in a temperature-controlled environment. The shift hours are from 8am- 4pm OR 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity to transition into a specialty pharmacy environment, with the pharmacy currently undergoing an expansion project and opening a new location nearby, providing significant internal growth opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00
