PeaceHealth Gift Shop Coordinator in Ketchikan, Alaska

Description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Gift Shop Coordinator for a Part Time, 0.50 FTE, Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.33 – $33.49. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Coordinates all aspects of the Gift Shop, including supervision and support of volunteer staff, buying, merchandising, inventory management, sales performance and computer generated reports.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises the merchandising of the selling floor including sales, promotions, in-store signage, and point of sale displays and stock levels.

  • Works with Volunteer Services in the recruitment of store volunteers. In emergency situations will fill in as needed with sales transactions.

  • Assists with daily operations of the shop, including training and supervising volunteers.

  • Prepare and monitor sales, purchasing budgets, and maintains general accounting ledger within the POS system and accounting system, as appropriate.

  • Responsible for buying product through current vendors as well as new sources, and maintaining inventory awareness.

  • Maintain caregiver purchase payroll deductions within Gift Shop working with Payroll Department.

  • Assist in development of annual shop and department budgets producing monthly reports for department leadership and other identified key stakeholders.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Buying experience in a variety of fields to include gifts, sundries and toys and

  • Preferred: Experience working with volunteers

Skills

  • Experience working in a diverse population serving a variety of customers. (Required)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. (Required)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals and manuals. (Required)

  • Professional appearance and demeanor are essential. (Required)

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages. (Required)

  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. (Required)

  • Proficient in MS Office applications specifically Word, Excel & Publisher. (Required)

  • Proficient with Quick Books system. (Required)

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

  • Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
